Welcome to The New Writers Website Launch – November 21, 2010

It’s finally here! The new website which has been in development, has been launched and is ready for us to explore, connect, and create. A special thanks to Stevie Ray Robison for his gracious efforts and technical skills which made the new site possible! As the founder of the group, Sarah Stuart has created a space for us all to make our passion and dream, a sustainable belief that anything is possible  - since we came together here, Sarah Stuart, Stevie Ray Robison, and Nicole Turiano, have been looking forward to this day and so much love and inspiration has been devoted to this achievement. We hope that you will join us in taking a moment to log into the site, http://www.thenewwriters.com/ and find out what has been a devotion to all our members and their dreams of becoming writers in celebration of their work.

There is much more to come! So we encourage you to check it out and join us on Twitter for The New Writers Website Launching Tweet-Up Party, happening on Wednesday, November 24th. Your feedback will help us continue to make it a place where writers will come together and celebrate their voices and passion for writing. We will all be there for the discussion, please follow Sarah at: http://twitter.com/sarah_stuart.
To participate, post messages from your Twitter account, including @Sarah_Stuart in your post.

If you submitted your book information to us for our bookshelf, you will find it on our site – we encourage our members to check out the bookshelf and see what their fellow members have published. Also, if you are a small press or other literary organization, publication, or source for creative expression, your website was included in our links/resources page and is being supported by The New Writers.

We want to thank everyone for your support and for becoming members of the facebook group where this all first began, your contribution and writing is the intention behind all that we do. We have evolved and are happy to introduce you as members of The New Writers. We believe in you, and celebrate you, and writers everywhere today.

“miles of stillness” by William S. Peters, Sr.

here i sit in a sort of quiet stillness

Miles is caressing

tickling my consciousness

intriguing me to listen

The soothing notes of contemplative softness

releases my pensiveness

and i sigh

there are no whys anymore

pulling at me

prodding and poking me

to engage,

i am just being

the flow

the darkness i embrace . . .

embraces me

in it’s unknowing

but yet to be discovered wonder . . .

i do no longer stumble

for i am in quiet stillness

listening

to the heart beat within me

keeping pace

in a place

called “MY Space”

i hear

i watch

my breath

coming . . . . going

sowing light,

the light of peace without cease

connecting to my greater self

found in things . . .

all of them

i can not hear

but i can see the noise of thought

vying for my attention

i smile at her incessant beckoning

seeking her own reckoning

in the dance of subterfuge

again i smile

and i recline

to the midst of these lines

i lay down

for Miles’ horn owns me now

and i am drifting in “A” minor

as a major “Unmovement”

in stillness

Miles of stillness

“patience” ~ Molly Kyle

Scratch my head like I’m your pet
To erase my needless thoughts
Hold me tightly, please don’t rush
Let’s look at the stars, connect the dots
Love bounces like a beam of blinding light,
dissolving my fears.
In the orbit of your eyes I circle
On a ship that Captain Fate steers.
Hold out your hand. Mine is here waiting.
Our fingers can solve the oldest puzzle.
Darling, don’t you know love does better freely than
when trapped inside a bottle?

“Patience is a virtue”
I whisper to the wise old air
Silence is the zen path to take
when no hearing ears are there
With novels unwritten of words unspoken
I am naked to you even dressed
But expectations are illusion, and
Reality is a lesson to learn, at best.

“Chick-a-dee” by Nemitabbah

I feel so beat up, battered, and bruised
Your words often tend to confuse
If I could only do what you do
You’d be able to see how one quickly becomes confused

Rolled the dice, snake eyes
How did I lose
The games we play with emotions
Leave some feeling subdued
But me I don’t play by the rules

Skin too dark no shade of grays nor the blues
Thought you knew
I never show signs of a bruise
This is what I have to do
Words form slowly
Message is flickerin’ through

It’s an end game
No more room to pretend
Sunlight breaks through, refracts, shifts, and it bends
Hatched from an egg, a chick turns into a hen

And then it starts all over again
The love trap
Walkin’ in the dark
Minds strapped
Waiting to be held up again
By your voice
By your story
Man sometimes it all bores me

But it’s an end game
No more room to pretend
Sunlight breaks through, refracts, shifts, and it bends
Hatched from an egg, a chick turns into hen

Sunset
Too many souls left to mend….

“I Don’t Need Her to Complete Me” By David Arnold

I Don’t Need Her to Complete Me

I don’t need her to complete me

That’s something I’ve already done

Her face is all I can see

In every thought that’s begun

I don’t need her to complete me

But I have to have her just the same

When we’re together we’re both free

My heart keeps whispering her name

I don’t need her to complete me

First time I’ve seen eyes that can smile

I’m in the place I’ve always wanted to be

Her ocean has surrounded my isle

I don’t need her to complete me

This is what real Love is I know

My lock has opened with her key

I’m home and never will go
